Nexus Venture Partners affiliated entities and funds ("Nexus," "we," "us," or "our") is a venture capital firm with offices in the United States and India. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard personal information in connection with your use of our website (the "Website"), our provision of investment and advisory services, and our interactions with you in person, social media or otherwise (collectively, the "Services") — for example, if you are a limited partner, a founder or representative of a portfolio or prospective portfolio company, a co-investor, a job applicant, or another individual who interacts with us.
If you are an investor in a Nexus-managed fund (or a representative of one), please also refer to the investor-specific privacy notice provided to you through your fund documentation or investor portal. In the event of any conflict between that notice and this Privacy Policy, the investor-specific notice will control with respect to fund investors.
Nexus operates through separate legal entities in the United States and India. References to "Nexus" in this Privacy Policy refer collectively to those affiliated entities, each of which has its own separate legal existence; this Privacy Policy applies across all of them unless a specific entity is named.

If you provide personal data or other information about someone other than yourself, or on behalf of an entity, organization, or body corporate, you confirm that you have the legal right, including consent where necessary, to provide the information for the specified purpose.
Personal Information We Collect
Information you provide to us
● Identifiers, such as your name, postal address, email address, phone number, IP address, government-issued identification numbers (e.g., PAN, Aadhaar, Social Security number, passport number), and, if you create an account with us, your username and password.
● Financial information, such as bank account details, tax identification numbers, and other information relevant to fund subscriptions, distributions, or diligence.
● Personal information categories under California law, including name, signature, Social Security number, address, telephone number, passport number, driver’s license or state identification card number, education, employment, employment history, bank account number or other financial information (some personal information included in this category may overlap with other categories).
● Professional and employment information, such as job title, employer, employment history, and biographical or bio-data used for diligence, sourcing, or portfolio reporting.
● Communications you exchange with us, including emails, meeting notes, and messages sent through the Website or other third party platforms.
● Marketing preferences, such as your subscription choices and engagement with our communications.
● Job applicant and employee information, as described below.
● Event and visitor data, such as details you provide when registering for an event, or when visiting one of our offices (including who you are visiting and the date and time of your visit).
● Other information you choose to provide, which we will use as described in this Privacy Policy or as disclosed at the time of collection.
We may collect information considered "sensitive" under applicable data protection laws (for example, government identification numbers or, in limited cases, health information provided in connection with an event). We only use such information for lawful purposes and, where required by applicable law, we will obtain your consent before processing it.
Information collected automatically
When you use our Website, we and our service providers may automatically collect information about you, your computer or mobile device:

● Co-investors, portfolio companies, and business partners, in the course of sourcing, diligence, and portfolio monitoring.
● Publicly available sources, such as company registries, news, and professional networking sites.
● Social media companies such as LinkedIn, X, YouTube, Instagram and Facebook, when you interact with our profiles on those services.
● Referrals, such as colleagues or acquaintances who introduce you to us.
● Background check and reference providers, in connection with diligence or employment screening.
How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information to:
● Operate, provide, support and promote our Services, including sourcing and evaluating investment opportunities, conducting due diligence, and managing our relationships with portfolio companies, co-investors, and limited partners;
● Communicate with you, including responding to inquiries and sending administrative or transactional messages;
● Administer events, competitions, or other business initiatives you participate in;
● Facilitate and secure visits to our offices;
● Send marketing communications about Nexus and our portfolio, where permitted by law and subject to your choices;
● Improve and secure our Website and Services, including troubleshooting and analytics;
● Conduct research and analysis, including through aggregated or de-identified data; and
● Comply with legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations, and to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Where required by applicable law, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases to process personal information: your consent, performance of a contract with you, compliance with a legal obligation, or our legitimate business interests, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights. Where we rely on legitimate interests as our legal basis (for example, sourcing and evaluating investments, portfolio monitoring, or securing our Website and Services), we consider that these interests are not overridden by your own rights and interests, and you may request further information about this balancing assessment or object to the processing as described under "Your Privacy Rights" below.
How We Disclose Personal Information
We may disclose personal information to:
● Nexus affiliates, including our US and India entities and any other affiliated funds or management entities, for purposes consistent with this Privacy Policy;
● Service providers, such as hosting, IT, email, analytics, and administrative service providers, acting on our behalf;
● Professional advisors, including lawyers, auditors, bankers, and insurers where necessary in the course of the professional services that they render to us;
● Co-investors and portfolio companies, where necessary to facilitate an investment, transaction, or business relationship;
● Regulators and government authorities, where required by law or in good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to comply with legal process;
● Business transferees, in connection with a merger, financing, reorganization, or similar transaction involving Nexus or its funds; and
● Other parties with your consent or at your direction.
We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
India Disclosure: We may disclose your personal data to an overseas recipient under certain circumstances. For example, where you have provided your consent or to an overseas server for storage. However, we only ever share your personal data outside of India where we are permitted to do so under applicable laws and subject to requirements under applicable law. We will not transfer your personal data to any country or territory outside India, where such transfer is restricted as per applicable law.
CCPA Disclosure: We may disclose the following categories of personal data to our service providers for the performance of business services on our behalf: (1) identifiers, including your name, user name and password, and contact details, such as your personal or work postal address, email address and phone number; (2) commercial information, including your marketing preferences and any consents you have given us; (3) internet or other electronic network activity information, including information related to the browser or device you use to access the Website, your IP address and cookie preferences; and (4) audio, electronic and visual information, including your communications with us and the personal data you provide to us in email or in conversations with our employees and personnel. We do not sell your personal data and have not sold your personal data in the last 12 months. We do not sell the personal data of minors.

Your Privacy Rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to request:

● Correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information;
● Deletion of personal information, subject to legal or contractual retention requirements;

● Withdrawal of consent, where our processing is based on consent, without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.
● Portability of personal information you provided to us, where our processing is based on consent or a contract with you and carried out by automated means; and
● Objection and restriction, including the right to object to processing based on our legitimate interests or for direct marketing, and the right to request that we restrict processing in certain circumstances.
India. If you are located in India, you have rights under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, including the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data, and to withdraw consent and file a grievance with our Grievance Officer (see below) before escalating to the Data Protection Board of India.
United States. If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (as amended), including the right to know, delete, correct, and opt out of certain sharing of your personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Residents of other US states may have similar rights under applicable state privacy laws.
European Economic Area and United Kingdom. If you are located in the EEA or UK, in addition to the rights described above, you have the right to data portability, to object to processing (including for direct marketing or where based on legitimate interests), and to restrict our processing of your personal data in certain circumstances. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection supervisory authority, or with the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) if you are in the UK, without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.

Photography
For special events, Nexus may take photos and video recordings of you which we may use in the provision of our Services. We will inform you if this is happening.
International Data Transfers
Because Nexus operates in both the United States and India, personal information we collect may be transferred between, and processed in, both countries, as well as by service providers or affiliates located elsewhere. These jurisdictions may have data protection laws that differ from those in your home country. Where required by applicable law, we implement appropriate safeguards for such transfers, such as contractual protections with recipients. Where personal data is transferred from the EEA or UK to the United States, India, or any other country that has not been recognized as providing an adequate level of data protection, we rely on appropriate safeguards recognized under the GDPR and UK GDPR, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (as supplemented by a transfer impact assessment where required) or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum, unless an applicable derogation applies.
Job Applicants and Employees
If you apply for employment with Nexus or any portfolio company, or become an employee, we may collect information you provide during the application and employment process, including identification details, employment and education history, background check results, and, where applicable and voluntarily provided, diversity information. We use this information for recruitment, onboarding, payroll and benefits administration, personnel record-keeping, and compliance with employment laws in the United States and India. We may disclose this information to background-check vendors, IT and payroll vendors, legal counsel, and government agencies as required by law. We do not sell applicant or employee personal information.
Data Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to satisfy legal, accounting, tax, or regulatory requirements, or until you withdraw consent where applicable. Retention periods depend on the nature of the information, the purpose of processing, and applicable legal requirements in the United States and India. In determining these periods, we consider the amount, nature, and sensitivity of the personal data, the potential risk of harm from unauthorized use or disclosure, and whether we can achieve our purposes through other means.
Security
We use technical, organizational, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Please take care in deciding what information you send to us, particularly by email.
Vulnerability Reporting
If you believe you have found a vulnerability or security concern with a Nexus application or product, please submit a report to it@nexusvp.com. Please include the type of issue, the name of the application or a URL, a proof of concept, and the detailed steps required to reproduce the issue.
Children's Privacy
Our Services are not directed to individuals under the age of 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.
Third-Party Links
Our Website may link to third-party websites or services that we do not control. This Privacy Policy does not apply to those third parties, and we encourage you to review their privacy practices before providing any personal information.
